There’s Hope!

Filed under: ALL POSTS,Magic,Musings from the Heart,Spirit of the Earth — Michelle @ 2:16 am

For some reason I am so full of love, inspiration, magic and gratitude right now, and feel like it would be good to share it with everyone!

I wonder if it has anything to do with Mercury having just entered Pisces. Basically, this means that communications (speaking, publishing, writing, thinking), travel, and technology are taking on a more spiritual, dreamy, intuitive, psychic, or fluid form. So for me personally, I am just bursting with dreams and visions of the world and the future of communications and technology. And since Saturn is still in Libra (and retrograde at that!), there is the constant pull to work on relationships of all kinds. The integration I suddenly feel is one filled with HOPE!

I can see and feel into what is to come, and it just feels wonderful. One day we will simply have a thought and a desire and be able to manifest it in our physical realm instantly. I’m talking more along the lines of communications and technology, because I believe we can manifest things instantly Now. For example, I could be sitting in my garden one day, enjoying the fruits I’ve co-created, and suddenly I think of a wonderful song I’d LOVE to hear. By this time, all music in the world may be available instantly, for free. Without even leaving my garden, the song is there, playing loud and clear like I were a the live concert. It brings about feelings and memories that remind me of someone. I nurture those feelings and feel great gratitude in being ALIVE and being able to FEEL so much! Suddenly I am inspired that I would LOVE to see and talk to this person right now! Through the same source that brought forth the song, suddenly there is the dear friend before me, almost physically real, and we are talking and laughing. When we are done, we say “farewell for now” and I go back to silence, in my garden.

This is just one example of the bliss I feel that we are creating! Yes, there is still a lot of “crap” happening in the world, and sure, it may get worse. But that will not stop me in creating exactly what it is our hearts truly desire. There is nothing “evil” or dark that our hearts TRULY desire, though we may be sometimes blinded by fear into believing that it is what we desire, or what we need in order to get to what we desire. But I see these walls breaking down, the fear dissolving, and our true authentic selves bursting forth with all the blissful and divine desires that REALLY rock our world. Nothing beats the desire for love.

Indeed, I feel there is immense HOPE for us all, always, in every moment. In the past, right now, and in times to come. No matter what is happening in the world, there is ALWAYS hope, and there is always an infinite well of love to draw from. All that is required from us is the courage to open our hearts to what is available to us. To choose to create our power from within, rather than trying to “take” it from somewhere or someone else. To believe in Love, no matter what.

I love you all, and leave you with these songs that always make me smile. The first one is called Hope, by India Arie. The lyrics are shown in this video from YouTube. Below it is You are My Sunshine by Elizabeth Mitchell. Enjoy!

My Welcome Back!

WOW, it has been awhile since I’ve been here. I feel like a newcomer to my own blog, so here is a big WELCOME BACK to ME!

Warning: This will be a very “linky” post. =)

So my last post was in June 2010, and it is now February 2011! SO much has happened. I have successfully pulled off a 2nd Luna Festival as well as a 2nd Christmas Crafts fair through my business Inspired Living. I also registered for the University of Guam in the fall and completed my first semester back at school after a 6 year hiatus (and two children later!)…with a 4.0 gpa at that! I am quite proud of myself. We had a great holiday season, with the usual people visiting back for the holiday festivities. I did some writing on World Pulse, an online magazine/community for women all around the world to share their stories. Here is my journal, called Breathing Life In.

I have continued to be a weekly faery poster on My Everyday Magic, and I intend to continue as long as I shall! Just recently Kate, who started My Everyday Magic, has started a new blog in honor of loving our bodies and embracing authenticity. The blog is called Our Body Blog, and I found the courage to share my story, just as Kate has. HERE is my story. It was terrifying, exhilarating and incredibly freeing to share my body story.

And now it is 2011!

I am taking this semester off from school to focus on my home and family, as well as my job at Nuts & Grains. I am considering the possibility of taking over the health food store. It makes sense, as my mom has put the last 15 years of her energy into building it and keeping it going. I am only 26, and my kids are finally coming out of toddlerdom, so it is quite possible that I could handle taking over a retail/food store. I’d definitely want to create some kind of business plan and have a firm vision of what I see for the future of the store before I take over all the responsibilities. Also need to hammer out lots of financial details! So that’s what I’m thinking about these days.

My relatives are visiting, as we will be holding a ceremony for my aunt Row, who passed on recently. I am happy to have visitors in the house, it sure livens things up a bit and pulls us out of our usual routine and comfort zone!

Well, I thought I’d have tons more to share, but you can check out some of the above links to delve further into what I’ve been up to lately.

OH! I almost forgot to share, my word for 2011 is GRACE. Last year was breathe, and I feel like that word will stick around, as I am still learning to breathe (see above link to the Body Blog)…but I am definitely feeling the word Grace as my overall theme and aspiration this year. Its already been transforming me, the way I relate to others, and the way I handle a great many situations!

Ok, that is all for now, I feel good about being back here. Its like coming home. Hopefully I can update often enough to catch some readers! Have a beautiful and magical day everyone!

A World Of Green

Filed under: ALL POSTS,Heavenly Health,Magic,Spirit of the Earth,Writing & Yoga for 21 Days — Michelle @ 6:14 am

Day 3 of writing and yoga and hooray for sproutings of all kinds! This post is going to include pictures, to satisfy my (and your) visual cravings. I’ve got seedlings and roots coming out of my ears. Okay, not really, but it feels that way! It feels SO satisfying to be putting things in the dirt, watching them work their way out of the soil and up toward the sun, as they grow in height and strength. And to be consuming mostly plants feels awesome! I can’t believe it, really. I was raised by a health nut not-so-strict-vegetarian, but this really feels different to me. Somehow, it is much more “whole” as I’m involved in every part of the cycle. The seeding. Planting/germinating. Watering. Growing. Harvesting. Beautifying. Preparing. Consuming. Composting. Feeding the soil. Planting seeds. And on it goes. There is a sense of completion, contentment, a fullness. The transfer of energy from me to the plant and vice versa is amazing! Its something you just have to experience for yourself to understand.

Green eggs!

I have been experimenting with different dishes and vegetables. Three nights ago I made my classic chicken lemongrass soup. Two nights ago I made scrambled eggs over sauteed kang kung with avocado and carrots. Last night I tried kelp noodles for the first time, chopped up with cucumber and green sprouts mixed with a little apple cider vinegar and wheat-free tamari sauce. Also made some guacamole and had some carrots and corn chips on the side. This morning we had green eggs! I scrambled eggs with a little bit of liquid chlorophyll mixed in and the boys got cinnamon butter toast, while I had mine with romain lettuce and carrots. Lunch for me today was romaine lettuce with chicken, avocado, sprouts and cucumber with apple cider vinegar and olive oil. I’ve had some coconut water, water with powdered moringa in it… I need to figure out some kind of reliable and hefty snack.

Scrambled Kang Kung & Eggs with Carrots & Avocado

Egg Salad Lettuce Wraps

I’ll be experimenting with some of the Body Ecology Diet recipes this weekend. I want to try to do some purees and make more things that my kids will eat. They have been eating more vegetables than ever, just because they are offered so often. A little bit of greens here, a bite of carrot there, etc. I’m realizing how much it adds up. Something I really want to figure out and play with is what to put in their preschool lunchbags. I’ve at least been adding to their usual peanut butter and jelly sandwich and applesauce. I’ve been throwing in baby carrots (since my recent discovery at my parents’ house that my littlest one will eat them…after so long of refusing!). Got any other ideas? I need to find some kind of “green” bread recipe. My kids eat a lot of bread (I’m really missing it right now).

Chakra Recipes Cookbook by Miro

Changing the way I’ve been eating has me feeling lighter. Cleaner. Full of life. Of course, I’ve only been keeping up the changes for a short time now, but if I feel this great about it now, I can’t wait to see how I feel in a few months, or a year from now! Many resources have been popping up around me, including a friend & yoga instructor named Miro. She is a wonderful woman who has published a book called Chakra Recipes, and many of the recipes are great for what I’m doing right now! She has beautiful artwork in the book as well. It is just a lovely creation and it inspires me every time I flip through it. The recipes are very simple, with minimal ingredients, and much versatility. A few of them I have to adapt a little bit to fit more in line with Body Ecology, but its easy. We have a couple of copies for sale at Nuts & Grains for $25.

Something I really look forward to is having most of the veggies that we eat come from our garden! I know it’ll take time, but I’m already so excited about all my little lettuce, cucumber and zucchini sprouts. The kids are having a lot of fun watching the difference in the sprouts even from when we see them in the morning to when we get home in the afternoon. They’ve been talking about sunflowers a lot lately, so when I saw the seed packets, I knew we’d get them and grow them. Plus, I just noticed yesterday when I was look at my treasure map, that I’ve got sunflowers on there!

Our future salad

Speaking of my treasure map, I took it out of the closet (because its too big for me to put it anywhere else for now!) and set it up on the couch. I did my yoga yesterday afternoon and was really feeling connected with my breathing, my body, my surroundings. I felt very grounded, yet with that divine connection that you just can’t explain. The minute you try to explain it, it fades. All I can say is that I felt all the inspiration I was breathing in. And when I was finished I looked at my treasure map and suddenly so many things on there clicked in a new way. I was seeing how certain things were unfolding and I am just blown away by the power of treasure maps! And it really is just that. A map of treasures. A guide to your desires. A visual reminder of your passions, goals, or things that came to you intuitively (even if they make no sense for awhile). I recommend making a treasure map to anyone, at anytime (even though there are some very beneficial and auspicious times to make one!). I hadn’t looked at it for about a month or so, and I can’t believe how much on it is manifesting…in the areas of health, healing, BREATHING, fresh, clean, simple, back to the earth, fun, energy, vitality, flowers, gardening, and more!

A happy mess...

I am truly blessed. The universe is always conspiring toward my highest good and I just love it all to pieces.

Well folks, thats a grand total of  1050 words, so I’m out!

A Visualization for the Scattered

Calm Through Chaos, by Eric Strom

Many of us who feel like we must present ourselves to the world, in the form of “artists”, often feel like life is a collection of fragments. We often live in a state of chaos, inspiration flowing in and out, and our arms are stretched in every direction. We frantically grab at every opportunity that floats by us. Or maybe we sit idle, uncertain of what to grab. Either way, there are fragments, pieces, choices, ingredients of the pie that is our life art, swirling around us at all times.

The trick is, can we ground ourselves so that we can look happily at the infinite choices, and with curiosity and enthusiasm, rather than panic and overwhelm? If we can remember to BREATHE…and find that inner calm within us, then we can create our life with intention, with diligence, with utter care. A joyful work!
I was inspired this morning, as I sat and visualized what I was feeling, and I thought I would share it with you all!
 *****************
*****************
A Visualization for the Scattered

Who am I? I am a human, child, daughter, grandaughter, niece, woman, lover, mother, friend, student, teacher. I am all of it. Who am I?
A piece of nature, a beautiful and significant particle of universe
Swirling in my own personal universe, the infinite images of my mind
Infinite love in my heart
I am.
I sit, with my bottom on the ground, the earth I am a part of
A solidness washes over me, a strong connection of being. HERE.
I am here, right now, feeling, whole, solid, a physical piece of earth.
I feel my hands, my toes, my hair, my lungs, my back, my breath,
My heart, my soul, the blood running through my veins. LIFE.
A passion pulses through me. Inspiration. Desire. Optimism. Hope.
LOVE.
I breathe in slooooowly….a swirl of white and gold light flood in
Through my nose, into my brain, filling my lungs, my heart pumping
White Gold Life Force Energy through every cell of my being, purifying
All that I am…in one inhale.
Breathe Out… stagnant energy that is not getting used or moved just
Streams out effortlessly, leaving my body, leaving my soul.
It goes through its own purification, by divine love, and then returns
To me as renewed energy, full of life once again as I INHALE.
Ahh…I am.
With the eyes of my mind I sense the infinite that surrounds me,
The endlessness…the forever going of the universe.
Choices stream by me, saying “hello! you could pick me if you like”
I smile and wave, “thank you! perhaps not at this time…”
Another opportunity, a choice, a decision to be made.
What a whimsical universe of endless possibilities!
What tastes good right now…I feel for what is dear to my heart.
What is right for me right NOW?
Ooh, that looks and feels good, I will note that down for later
Ooh, I can take a small step toward THAT right now.
Oh! THAT looks wonderful!
Yes. I’ll take that.
I reach my arm out and embrace with my loving hands
Making a conscious choice to add this into my life right now.
Yes, this feels good. And if it starts to feel not so good
I can adjust it, take some and leave the rest, or put it all back out there
For someone else to enjoy.
But while I have it I will hold it gently and firmly in my heart
I will love it with all my being and live it fully
Until it is time to let it go.
Ahh…I sit so peacefully.
Who am I? I am all of it and nothing at all.
I am LOVE.
I sit centered, grounded, as my world swirls around me
Sometimes it appears chaotic, othertimes a neat spiral
Sometimes the fragments are messy and sometimes they feel tidy.
No matter what, I sit amongst my thoughts in peace.
Every thought is another fragment floating by.
I can smile and wave and send it on its way,
Or I can lovingly embrace it and enjoy it to its fullest potential
And then let it go when we have fully served our purpose together.
Breathe it all in…and then let it all out… with JOY.

Out to Sea

Aboard the Alii Nui, a 60' catamaran

We went sailing this weekend and had a blast. I was worried at first because the little one’s got a cough, but it was great! Once everyone was aboard, we got a nice shower from the sky right before departing. It cleared up as we got further out of the marina.

My dad is the hired captain of the Ali’i Nui, a 60′ catamaran sailed here from Hawaii and I am so proud of him! I love seeing that he is happy, having a great time, and creating a great living! He was doing charters on the boat that he co-owns, the Rubicon. Check out his website Sail Fish Guam for more about him and his business. He is a very well-known and respected man of the water here on Guam, even with my biased opinion aside. And I love him!

Here are some fun pictures from our sunset sailing adventure this past weekend…

Guam Through My Eyes

Filed under: ALL POSTS,Aura Art,Magic,Spirit of the Earth — Michelle @ 2:19 am

Here is my latest painting! I was sitting on the couch writing in my journal, when suddenly I had the urge to paint. I literally jumped off of the couch and grabbed a blank canvas from the closet. Pulled out some colors. I knew what I was going to paint.

I was asked to contribute an essay and original artwork for an upcoming book project called “Guam Through Our Eyes” and today I finally got to the artwork!

I adore red ginger (ginger of all kinds really!) and for me, primarily when I think of Guam, nature comes first. My heart is definitely in nature, and in this painting you’ll see the flowers, greenery, the ocean, and the sun, moon & wind all swept into one blended vision of love for nature.

This painting didn’t take too long to create, but a lot of energy went into it. It was pretty intense actually, but it came together so quickly! I think it really made a difference that I had a clear image in my mind of what it would ultimately resemble.

Below I offer a play-by-play from start to finish.

The Hair Show

I made a collage of the Z.One Concept Hair Show photos taken by local photographer Norman Taruc. I hope this captures the essence of the show! I had a lot of fun. I never thought I’d be in something like this, and I am now not sure I could cut it as a model…there is so much waiting involved…long days of having your hair and face and clothes twiddled with. Initially it seems fun, and I did feel like I was being pampered at times, but on a regular basis, I just don’t know.

It was fun being on stage, and I actually enjoyed the attention! I guess that is my Leo moon side coming out!

My homemade masquerade mask!

My homemade masquerade mask!

Behold, my first ever homemade masquerade mask! I will be on my way to the HUSH Masquerade Party tonight, and I’ve got my stuff! I’ll be sure to update with “after” pictures.

Making this mask was a bit more tedious than I had imagined. It took awhile (had to glue different parts in stages) and I was just winging it! I looked at pictures of other masks and got ideas from ones that I like, and ta daa!

I found some of my black and gold accessories to dress it up too. I’m excited, I’ve never really been to an actual masquerade party!

A Faery Photoshoot

Filed under: ALL POSTS,Magic,Sacred Spaces,Spirit of the Earth — Michelle @ 12:29 am

My childhood dreams have come true!

As a little girl, when I’d see those photos of women donned in faery wear glowing amongst the trees, I always wished I could do that too!

A huge THANK YOU to Heather Colson, of M-eye World Photography for being a very important part of this whole experience! She put the magic into these photos! She is definitely a faery goddess in her own right, and totally fun to work with!

Now I shall stop talking and let you look through the photos!

Butterfly Dance

Filed under: ALL POSTS,Magic,Sacred Spaces,Secret Morning Adventures,Spirit of the Earth — Michelle @ 12:11 am

Butterfly spotted on the ground during one of my morning adventures

Who doesn’t love butterflies? Maybe there are people out there who don’t, but I just love them. I love the way they flutter around, dancing from flower to flower drinking up the nectar.

Of course there is the magnificence of the whole metamorphosis phenomenon…a tiny caterpillar that grows and grows, eating leaves and inching its way across the ground floor and through the stems of plants. Then it curls itself up into a cocoon, giving it some pushing force that is its catalyst for growing and strengthening a beautiful pair of wings. When the time is right, the creature breaks free from its self imposed resistance and sets flight out into the world.

We all go through similar processes, these growth stages, breaking through our self imposed resistances and setting ourselves free. Some of us feel these changes dramatically, others more subtly. All of us have a pair of beautiful wings that are there when we are ready to fly!

Butterfly Cluster

Butterfly Cluster

My latest morning adventure was quite the adventure for sure! I decided to go to the Hilton Hotel and park by their hillside. They have beautiful gardens and walkways and a road that leads up to the chapel that sits on the point. It is a breathtaking area. While walking, I was surrounded by butterflies! They were everywhere. It felt like I entered the secret land of the butterfly kingdom. I wondered if a royal butterfly palace might be somewhere near… There was a lot of magic in the misty morning air. The sun shone down brightly, lighting up all the leaves and flowers, though a storm was brewing on the ocean side.

At one point they were EVERYWHERE. Swirling around me, I felt so entranced to be in the middle of this butterfly dance! I managed to capture a video of this flutterby whirlwind which you can view below. I apologize in advance for any shakiness in the video, I did my best, lol! Enjoy my first amateur movie!

Embracing the Mystical

Filed under: ALL POSTS,Magic,Spirit of the Earth — Michelle @ 2:00 am

fairy

As many of you may be aware, I have really been trying to take the time to recognize the magic in everyday life.

What a profound difference I have felt since making this shift! Abundance is a state of mind, not the size of your wallet. The more I focus on the things I love, appreciate all the simple goodness life has to offer, the easier it is to come up with solutions to everyday obstacles (which I now view as opportunities for learning about my style and life preferences).

The more I focus on the magic in life, the more I see it, feel it, and CREATE it! It’s so fun for me, to revel in the imaginative dreams that swirl around in my mind…and to translate these images and feelings into tangible creations is even more delightful! By painting, making little faery homes outside in nature, creating a magically decadent meal, enjoying a morning tea ritual, or refreshing my home decor to reflect the beauty that I see in my mind…by doing any of these things (the possibilities are endless, by the way) I tap in to that cycle of BEING. We were created to continue the creation cycle! We are constantly creating whether we know it or not, and when you are doing things for the JOY and satisfaction that comes from just doing them, you are creating a life full of magic.

When I look back on my life since I’ve made a committment to live joyfully as much as possible, to do things that feel good and bring a smile to my face, I can see infinite days full of magic. I can’t even count. If you can believe it, I used to be able to count my good days (relatively) out of a given time period. That was when I was in a state of “what’s the point” and now that I’ve discovered that *I* am the point, that *JOY* and *MAGIC* and *CREATION* are the point, and that I am WORTH it to make these things happen…I’ve lost count of all the good days. It almost feels like they are ALL good days (even the “bad” ones…lol) because even when I feel low, there is a profound magic in ALLOWING myself to feel what I’m feeling, and to intentionally take care of myself and nurture myself during those challenging times.

I’ve been communicating more with mother nature and with the unseen creatures and spirits that live among us. It is all about awareness and choosing to open that communication, and also choosing to close it as it feels right to do so. It has been so magical! There is an infinite world all around us where time and space offer variety instead of limitation… we can choose in any moment to create and experience magic…and to share it with others.

Much love to all. Have a magical day.

And you can check out My Everyday Magic to post and share about your simple magic today, or any other day. It really makes a difference when it becomes a habit to be open to what magic is going on in our everyday lives.

Faery Doodle Land

Faery Land I was inspired to doodle in my journal this morning

Faery Land I was inspired to doodle in my journal this morning

This morning as I was writing in my journal, I started doodling…and when under the right circumstances (no one bothering me!) my doodling has a ripple effect…Suddenly the whole page is filled with a detailed wonderland!

I really love writing in my journal, and today I remembered just how much I love to draw in my journal too! And what fun it is to come up with all kinds of fantastical aspects to add to this mysterious wonderland…a utopia of sorts. A luscious, magical sacred retreat is what I am dreaming of…

Drawing little worlds like these is so fun for me, because I get to recreate it as I would love to see it! Or at least one small part… And it also lets me be free enough creatively that when I am just relaxed and open, inspiration & ideas seem to flow in so easily.
